FaceApp is an applications which takes help of artificial intelligence to show the user how he or she will look like in old age, the app took over the internet in no time.

The bright times ended when security concerns were raised on the app, the FaceApp has access to the image gallery of your phone. Some users have reported that the app still has access to their photos, even though they have FaceApp’s permissions set to ‘never’ on their phone. But access to the gallery isn’t a major concern when you read the Terms & Conditions of the app.

Even though FaceApp might not have access to gallery of your phone it can pretty much do anything with the photos you have uploaded in the app.

“You grant FaceApp a perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, fully-paid, transferable sub-licensable license to… your User Content and any name, username or likeness provided in connection,” reads the company’s Terms of Use.

Terms and Conditions also includes that the app can use your image for “Commercial purposes”- keeping this factor in mind people wouldn’t have agreed to the FaceApps bizarre terms & conditions.

How it Works?

In Terms of Use it states, images are not altered on the device.

Once you select the image you want to alter, the app then uploads it to the cloud and make changes to your image and then it is downloaded to your device again.

Terms & Conditions also states that “most images are deleted from our servers within 48 hours from the upload date”. It clearly states “most” and not “all”. This alone should make you stop using this app for now until further actions are taken on the app developers.
