Apple unveiled its most powerful Mac ever at the WWDC held earlier this year. The Mac Pro 2019 is the latest update to Apple’s powerful professional PC. The system is topped up with the latest hardware making it the most powerful Mac ever.
The Mac Pro is a highly configurable machine, everything can be upgraded according to user preference.
The new Mac Pro comes with a stainless-steel frame. Apple has decided to move forward from the ‘Cylindrical’ or ‘Bin’ form factor. The new tower chassis is a more conventional design. Mac Pro 2019 has been given a more industrial and modular look. The Mac Pro 2019 is more traditional and features a brushed aluminum finish and heat sink holes enhancing the outer shell.
Apple has also managed to fit Mac Pro 2019 with a unique cooling system to maximize airflow. Even though Mac Pro will have the ultimate cooling capacity it will still stay relatively quite. Even with the massive fans, the powerhouse that Mac Pro is, it won’t be distracting you while you work. Multiple thunderbolt ports are placed at the top of the machine, which will give uninterrupted access.
Specification & Performance
CPU: The base model of the Mac Pro 2019 will come with a new 8-core Intel Xeon processor, Xeon processors are meant for professional workstations. And, if you’re not happy with the base processor you can spec it up to a Xeon processor with an extraordinary 28 cores.
The more cores you have the more multitasking your system will be. Mac Pro will be able to handle any kind of multitasking and other CPU intensive tasks like.
GPU: Similar to other Macs, Mac Pro will also be powered by AMD GPUs. The base model will be featuring a Radeon Pro 580X, and just like it was with the processor it can be specked up to a faster GPU which is Radeon Pro Vega II, which features 32GB of high-bandwidth memory – 1TB/s to be accurate, Vega II has the highest memory bandwidth of any GPU.
If 1 Vega II is not enough you can put AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo, which features two Vega II GPUs for a total of 64GB of memory which makes it the world’s most powerful graphics card.
These GPUs work on Apple’s MPX Module, which easily slots into the Mac Pro, providing quiet operation while being kept cool by the Mac Pro’s own cooling system. And Mac Pro features 2 MPX Module, so if you have the budget you can install 2 AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo, which will give you 128GB of Memory and 56 teraflops of graphics performance.
To complement this behemoth which is capable of delivering so much performance, Memory-wise, the Mac Pro 2019 supports six-channel memory and comes with 12 slots, which allows you to install up to 1.5TB of RAM.
Storage: The entry model Mac Pro comes with a 256GB SSD, anyways Apple gives you the option to upgrade it with up to a 4TB drive. That is a lot of SSD storage.
Price For All This Performance?
The base model of the Mac Pro will cost you $5999, whereas according to estimates done by researchers, 2 AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo will cost around $12,000, and 4TB of storage will cost you approximately $2000. Taking in perspective these prices, a fully specked out version of Mac Pro 2019 can cost from $35000-$40000.
The Mac Pro 2019 is obviously not for you everyday household work, this state of the art machine is focused towards creators, which don’t want any hardware restriction while they work, and the fact that this machine has a capability to improve and fast track work, most of the creators will look it as an investment. And thanks to the modularity of the system, you can upgrade it down the road which is not possible in other Macs like MacBook Pro.
