At times of crisis, when businesses are facing huge losses, employees are stuck at homes, and the economy is plummeting down, in response many software companies are rolling out free tools subscriptions that support videoconferencing, remote team collaboration, virtual classrooms, and other activities.

These free tools will help organizations cope with the consequences of the pandemic.


Adobe

Tools: Software design tools and web-conferencing.

Adobe has allowed educational customers to request free home access for students and teachers to the Creative Cloud Suite. The free toolset is available through May 31. Adobe’ web-conferencing service, the Adobe Connect, is also made free for schools, businesses, and government agencies on 90-day licenses, that can be available till 1st July.

Box

Tools: Cloud content collaboration and storage.

Box has made the business edition of its service available for free for 90 days. Aaron Levie, the CEO of the company informed this via a tweet. The business edition offers unlimited storage and data loss protection, advanced user & security reporting. Users won’t be charged until their free trial ends on 19 June 2020.

Cisco

Tools: Videoconferencing service.

The video conferencing service from Cisco, Webex is been offered for free with boosted capabilities, the free version is now available with no time limits on meeting and has expanded member capacity to 100 people on a call, and offers toll dial-in. The free service is limited to some countries, the list can be found on the link below.

Google

Tools: Videoconferencing service and online productivity tools.

Google Cloud has announced free access to its advanced Hangouts Meet videoconferencing capabilities for all customers of its G-Suite and G-Suite for Education services. This enables calls of up to 250 people and also allows meetings to be recorded and saved on Google Drive.

Microsoft

Tools: Team collaboration and communication platform.

Microsoft Teams is available for free, the limit has been lifted from the free version, Microsoft has also announced that Office 365 enterprise suite of productivity will also be available for free for six months to organizations, users can collaborate using Office 365, make presentations, work on spreadsheets, and share Word documents.
